34 posts · Joined 2017. #1 · Feb 6, 2023. 2011 Outback Limited..driver's power window won't go all the way up. It reaches 1" from top and goes all the way down on its own. I can stop the travel down but it won't close. I experienced other issues with opening/closing finally getting to this stage. The motor or pulley system sounds like gravel ...The old one stopped working intermittently on the driver's window. The problem got worse over time and then it stopped completely. After replacing the switch and reconnecting the battery, I did the reset trick on the rear and passenger windows and now they all work fine from the master.Hold the button down for 3 seconds. Then lift the switch up, bringing the window to the top position. Hold it there for 3 seconds. Repeat this two more times and the window should be reset. *On 2015 and later, it is the same operation but only hold it down 2 seconds. If you hold it down longer, it will continue to be in non pinch mode.

I parked in a lot and had the driver side window down, rolling it up or down as the off and on rain allowed. When I was ready to go in for my appointment, I tried to close the window. It would run up an inch or do, pause, then go back to the full open position. This repeated several times. Auto up/down on windows won't work, and from the driver's control can't control the other windows... all 4 windows on yours are auto up/down.... at each door, roll the window about halfway down, then roll them back up, holding for one second after it closes. Right now they probably aren't able to be opened from the driver's door.

I installed the weather tech visors and only the driver side window seems to utilize the sensors to stop when obstructed with the visors installed.
